Frequently asked questions
The questions families ask most often, with clear answers. Can't find what you're looking for? Call us at 727-660-2518.
What services do you provide?
Companionship, meal preparation, transportation and errands, grocery assistance, light housekeeping, laundry, safety check-ins, household organization, and routine lifestyle support — all non-medical.
What services do you NOT provide?
We do not provide bathing, toileting, transferring, lifting, medication administration, skilled nursing, wound care, or any clinical or medical services. We're happy to refer families to trusted home health partners.
Are you licensed as a home health agency?
No. Accumula is a non-medical companion and homemaker company. Our scope is intentionally narrow so we can deliver dependable, premium lifestyle support.
How quickly can service begin?
Most service starts happen within 48 hours of a completed intake, consultation, and payment confirmation. Urgent cases are accommodated whenever possible.
Is this private-pay only?
Yes. We do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or long-term care insurance. Private-pay allows faster onboarding, more flexible scheduling, and a more personalized experience.
What does service cost?
Monthly plans start at $2,500 (Essential), $3,500 (Lifestyle), and $6,000 (Priority). Final pricing depends on schedule, location, and support needs. See the Pricing page for detail.
How does billing work?
Monthly, weekly, or bi-weekly invoicing through a secure third-party payment platform. Payment is confirmed before service begins.
What's the service area?
The Greater Tampa Metropolitan Area, including South Tampa, Westchase, Carrollwood, Wesley Chapel, Riverview, Brandon, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Palm Harbor. Service radius is approximately 30 minutes from core coverage areas.
How are companions vetted?
Every companion is background-checked and screened for dependability, communication, and fit for premium private-pay engagements.
Will my parent have the same companion every visit?
Continuity is one of our core promises. We match for long-term fit, and your designated coordinator handles backup coverage when needed.
How are families kept informed?
Designated coordinator, scheduling confirmations, and family updates when appropriate. We adapt to each family's preferred cadence and channels.
Can you accompany us to appointments?
Yes — companion accompaniment to medical, professional, and social appointments is one of the most-used services.
Can you provide overnight care?
Overnight companion presence may be available within our non-medical scope on a case-by-case basis. Hands-on personal care is not provided.
What if my loved one needs medication reminders?
Gentle reminders are within scope. Medication administration, set-up, or management is not.
Do you work with elder law attorneys, fiduciaries, or geriatric care managers?
Yes — we have a formal Referral Partner Program. See the Partners page for details.
What happens if our needs change?
Your coordinator reviews the plan with you regularly. Hours, services, and cadence can be adjusted as needs evolve.
Is my information secure?
Yes. Intake data is stored securely. We do not share personal information outside the coordination team needed to deliver service.
Do you handle pets, household staff, or contractors?
Companions can assist with light pet support (feeding, walks). We do not supervise other household staff or contractors.
Can I pause or cancel service?
Yes — we work with you on schedule changes, pauses, and discontinuation. Notice expectations are outlined in your service agreement.
